On December 6, I had the honor of taking photos an awesome benefit concert for Joey’s Song. The event at the Barrymore Theatre featured premier locally and nationally known musicians gathered to raise money for epilepsy research.
One of the highlights was Miguel Cervantes of Hamilton fame. Named “Chicagoan of the Year in theater” by the Chicago Tribune, Cervantes has starred for three years plus as Alexander Hamilton in Chicago’s production of Hamilton at the CIBC Theatre. Cervantes’s three-year-old daughter Adelaide died in October “after suffering from a rare and very severe form of early childhood epilepsy.”
Other musicians that performed included The Know-It-All Boyfriends (featuring Garbage drummer Butch Vig and guitarist Duke Erikson); Brian Ray, Paul McCartney’s guitarist; Kyle Henderson from The Producers; Trapper Schoepp; Cory Chisel; Chris Collingwood from Fountains of Wayne and Madison-locals Chaser.
